Outpatient Cardiac Rehabilitation

The Cardiac Rehabilitation Program at Allen Hospital provides educational and physical reconditioning services to those affected by heart disease. The outpatient program begins 1-2 weeks after hospital discharge from an acute event and lasts approximately 6-12 weeks. Cardiac response is evaluated during monitored exercise sessions which include walking, biking, weight-lifting and other heart-strengthening activities. Patients establish goals for life in diet, exercise, weight loss, blood pressure control, lipid management, smoking cessation and stress management.
