As we embark on 2011, I want to make you aware of the new associate incentive plan that we are calling Share Our Success.  Unlike former plans, the one below details what the payouts will be for each full-time employee based on the level of achievement for each goal. 

The payouts are based on how well we reach six goals. Each goal has threshold, target and maximum scores and payouts. As an example, if we achieve an overall score of 87 for our Press Ganey inpatient satisfaction goal, each full-time associate would receive $84.  If we reach the maximum scores for all six goals, the overall payment to each full-time associate will be $600, to be paid in February 2012.  For part-time associates, the amount will be pro-rated.  This plan is not open to associates covered by any other bonus plan. We will update you on our progress at each 2011 Open Forum meeting. 

There are two provisos you must fulfill to participate in the 2011 Share Our Success plan:

1.  You must attend at least 75% of the 2011 Open Forums. There will be four Open
     Forums in 2011, so you can miss one and still be eligible.

2.  You must receive and document all required 2011 immunizations (including
     influenza) and tests (including TB) by the specified deadlines.

Home Health Face-to-Face Encounter Requirement Delayed
CMS Delays Enforcement until April 1, 2011
 
Iowa Health Home Care published a new requirement last week by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) that affects home health certifications. Prior to certifying a patient’s eligibility for the home health benefit, the certifying physician must document that he or she, or an allowed non-physician practitioner (NPP), has had a face-to-face encounter with the patient. This requirement was to have been effective Jan. 1, 2011, but CMS has since delayed enforcement of the face-to-face encounter requirement until April 1, 2011. The three-month delay was granted to allow home health providers additional time to implement procedures to meet face-to-face encounter requirements.

Iowa Health Home Care plans to implement the face-to-face requirement at the earliest possible date to ensure compliance by April 1, 2011. We are developing comprehensive resources designed to ease implementation at the physician level, including face-to-face training and new documentation tools. We will learn more about these resources in the coming weeks, and we will continue to update you regularly throughout the implementation process.
