2010 Final Patient Satisfaction Scores
We recently received Press Ganey patient satisfaction scores for the 4th and last quarter of 2010. I’ve highlighted below those results compared to the 3rd quarter of 2010 and to the Threshold goals we’ve set for the new Share Our Success program in 2011.
You’ll notice that Ambulatory and the Emergency Department achieved 4th quarter scores equal to or better than the threshold score of the Associate incentive plan for 2011. The Inpatient and Outpatient scores fell below the threshold level we’ve established for 2011. The Emergency Department is the only one to have improved their score in the 4th quarter over the 3rd quarter results. The take-

away from these scores is that we have more work to do if we want to maximize achievement of our targets for 2011. I’ll provide further details of an action plan to help us achieve success in this area next week.
In the meantime, the administrative team continues to make patient rounds every other week, and the experience has been a rewarding one for all of us. We’re asking patients basic questions about hourly rounding and the level of satisfaction with their care. If issues are presented to us, we try to address them right away. The patients are giving us a great deal of positive feedback about the care you are providing them, while also giving us some suggestions for improvement. A summary of the feedback we get is recorded, and we are watching for trends that may be helpful in better serving our patients. As we note these trends we’ll provide you with the feedback.

Get Involved With Family & Children's Council of Black Hawk County
Family & Children's Council is seeking volunteers for its Parent to Parent program. The program matches new mothers with volunteers who offer extra encouragement and support to them on a weekly basis. There is an increasing need in the Cedar Falls-Waterloo community for caring volunteers to help encourage these mothers as they care for their new babies.
A training session for volunteers will be held on Saturday, February 19. We hope you will join us!
If you are interested in becoming a Parent to Parent volunteer, please call Adriane or Jessica at 234-7600 or email acarlson@fccouncil.net or jessica@fccouncil.net.
