The Salvation Army Thanks You
Sue Hennings, development director for The Salvation Army, sent us the results of our Allen collection to support Christmas food boxes for families in need in December. By working together, Allen associates, the Allen Auxiliary, the administrative team and Dr. Kaaki raised $4,563. Our funds provided food boxes for 100 families who otherwise would have had nothing to eat for Christmas.
Overall, the Salvation Army fed 799 families. As you can see, our combined contribution was significant. The Salvation Army has provided for the destitute and needy for more than 100 years. It is a faith-based organization that believes we are here to help one another. Thank you for sharing that belief and your gifts.

“BLESSING OF HANDS" Scheduled for This Week
In honor of the compassionate, healing work our Allen hospital staff offer our patients, the spiritual care chaplains at Allen Hospital will be offering a Blessing of Hands for all hospital staff during the week of January 21 – 27, 2012. Staff chaplains plan to visit all areas of the hospital during that week and offer a Blessing of Hands for all interested staff. This is an individual, non-denomination blessing in gratitude for the caring work our staff at Allen Hospital offer to our patients every day.
If you have any questions or would like to arrange a schedule with the chaplains to visit you, please leave a message for us at 235-3692. Thank you and bless you.

The 2012 Live Healthy Iowa 100 Day Wellness Challenge is Just Around the Corner! Organize Your Teams Today!
Live Healthy Iowa brings people together in a team-based activity and weight loss program designed to promote a healthier lifestyle.
The program runs from January 23 through May 1, 2012, and now is the time to get your team together and take the challenge.

The teams then simply complete easy weekly updates of their personal dashboard and physical activity from their computers. Your individual information remains confidential. - One-year magazine subscription to one of 10 titles
- Weekly motivational email tips and recipes
- Free entry into the Winter and Summer Games Fitness Walks

- Chance to win monthly team incentives and/or individual prizes, such as bikes, iPods or a Four-night Tropical Cruise for Two!
|
|
*Winners selected from all participants who record progress each week of the program. Incentives are awarded each month, at the 50-day point and at program end.
We will update you with registration information by early next week. Get your teams together and designate a captain so you’ll be ready to enter the 100 Day Wellness Challenge.
