Quincy Medical Group, Iowa Health System Complete Affiliation
Iowa Health System and Quincy Medical Group (QMG), Quincy, Ill. have finalized their agreement to affiliate. The relationship will enhance both organizations’ capabilities to coordinate physician-driven, patient-centered health care and improve efficiencies. As part of the affiliation, QMG will also be joining IHS’s accountable care organization.
The affiliation between IHS and QMG is based on core principles that include:

- A long-term relationship and a shared commitment to the patients, families and communities of the region
- IHS support for strategic initiatives that ensure QMG retains and builds upon its traditions of excellence and its position as a leader in quality and patient service
- Strong collaboration and clinical innovation between QMG physicians and IHS’s approximately 700 other employed physicians
- Greater efficiency and integrated care delivery to ensure continued high quality and high value, affordable care
- Maintaining the aspects of physician ownership and local governance
- IHS’s interest in working with other key providers in the region

The two organizations announced plans to pursue an affiliation in October 2011. The affiliation also permits the parties to further expand their relationship in the future. The agreement with QMG marks the second significant affiliation IHS has completed in Illinois during the past year. Methodist Health Services Corporation of Peoria became IHS’s eighth Regional Integrated Delivery System (IDS) on Oct. 1, 2011.

Spindustry Training and Iowa Health System offers free training to IHS employees and volunteers on Office 2010. Join us in our two hour sessions to increase your knowledge of a specific application or just broaden your computer skills. Classes will be held in the computer lab at Allen College.
