Important Fitness Center News
Remember the Blue Zone Power 9 principles Move Naturally and Down Shift? Did you know that organized activity can be good for both the body and an excellent stress management tool?
As part of our Blue Zone effort, the Employee Wellness Activities committee recommended to Allen administrative team to resume support for Allen associates participation in organized fitness activities. We are pleased to announce the details have been worked out!
Discount Benefit: All Allen associates can receive a discount on memberships or a waiver of fees at these local and regional centers (attached). The discounts or waivers are based on the choice of the individual center, and some apply to family activities.
Blue Zone Only Member Participation Benefit: Beginning October 1, Allen Blue Zone Only Members can receive an individual rebate of $20/month when they actively participate (you must attend 8 or more times per month) in organized fitness activities at their choice of over 40 local and regional fitness centers. Show your badge and sign in at the following fitness centers (see link below) who have agreed to send back to Allen a verification of your activity on a monthly basis to our Employee Health Department by fax or e-mail. The rebate will appear on your paycheck in the month following your participation which means your first payment won’t appear until November. While more than 8 times a month is encouraged, this is a recognition also that other types of activity are good too. The rebate will often cover half or more of the monthly cost of a typical fitness class!
If you want the Blue Zone Only Member Participation Benefit, and are not a Blue Zone Member, register at www.bluezonesproject.com and make sure the put Allen Blue in the organization code box. You will receive the Blue Zone badge and will be updated to a list of associates who can receive the $20 benefit.
Thanks to our Employee Health Department for taking on the work of administrating this program. Thanks, too, to the Allen Administration for their support of organized fitness programs for Allen associates.

End user training is underway and we are now 36 days away from going live with Epic!!
Please make sure that you are completing all of your IQ4 Net Learning modules prior to coming to class. Many users have sequential classes such as a 100, 200, 300, 400 class schedule and if you miss the first class due to not having your Net Learning done it will disrupt your entire training schedule.
Have fun and thank you for doing your part in making this not only a successful conversion to a new system, but a new experience for our patients that continues our journey for the best outcome for every patient every time.

NDNQI Survey Open on October 1
The NDNQI RN survey period will be from 12:01 am October 1st through 11:59 pm October 21st. The NDNQI RN survey is for RNs from the following units that spend 50% or more of their time providing direct care. Please take a moment to complete this survey.

Pathways 9th Annual Run, Walk, and Roll for a Drug Free Community 5K
The 5K is fast approaching on October 27, 2012 at 9:00 am. Please click here for registration and sponsorship forms. Correction: Skip-A-Payment Program
Holidays, vacations, and unexpected expenses can put added stress on a budget. With Allen Credit Union’s new Skip-A-Payment Program members may skip a monthly* loan payment once per calendar year per loan for a $20.00 fee. The loan must be current at time of request and the missed payment will be applied to the end of the loan. The member may choose to pay the fee upfront or have the fee deducted from their check in lieu of the loan payment. Please contact the credit union for more information. 319 235-3678.
*If loan is set up for monthly payments, member may skip one payment. If loan is set up for bi-weekly or semi-monthly payments, member may skip 2 payments. If loan is set up for weekly payments, member may skip 4 payments. |
