For many people, the closest cardiac surgery program is located more than 60 miles away. That's why Allen established a Cardiac Emergency Network. The network provides communication, education and service to many area hospitals and clinics.

It enables a heart attack victim in Northeast Iowa to receive prompt treatment at the healthcare facility nearest the patient, resulting in a reduction of damage to the victim's heart muscle that occurs during the first hours of a heart attack.

Allen Hospital specializes in cardiac care, cardiac surgery, orthopedics, robotic-assisted surgery and has a Level II birthing center.
