URGENT CARE provides healthcare for anyone with an urgent injury or illness that does not require an emergency room visit and who cannot, for whatever reason, get in to see their regular primary care physician. No appointments are taken and all patients are welcome on a walk-in basis, regardless of whom they choose as their primary care physician.

Your body doesn't realize you're only supposed to get sick or hurt between the hours of 9-to-5,  Monday through Friday. And your kids have no problem breaking the rule that they're not to get sports injuries or ear infections in the evenings and on weekends. The result: long hours spent in a local emergency room for a broken bone or runny nose, topped off by a hefty emergency room bill. For years, this was the only option for people in Northeast Iowa — until now.

Urgent Care is not meant to compete with local physicians and emergency rooms. Rather, it complements these existing services. The clinic places a very important emphasis, with the patient's permission, on sending records of care to the patient's primary care physician, and referring the patient back to his or her own doctor for any follow-up care.

Please remember that any life-threatening illnesses should always be referred to Allen's Emergency Room immediately.
