PURPOSE: To increase knowledge regarding genome sequencing and acute coronary syndrome.
OBJECTIVES: Upon comopletion of this program, the participant will be able to:
Identify current state of genome sequencing.
Recognize immediate applications of genome sequencing to clinical medicine.
Describe cost, psychological factors and payor issues in use of genome sequencing.
Discuss and understand acute coronary syndrome.
Discuss and understand options available for treatment of acute coronary syndrome.
Discuss and understand risks vs. benefits for both conservative/medical therapy compared to interventional/revascularization.
Discuss and understand how treatment options might change with ST elevation ACS vs. non-ST elevation ACS.
Demonstrate ability to find, understand and extrapolate from the medical literature.
