Allen Hospital is being recognized today by The Joint Commission as one of the Top Performers on Key Quality Measures™ for 2011 for four measure sets:

Joint Commission Gold Seal
  • Heart Attack
  • Heart Failure
  • Pneumonia
  • Surgical Care

Allen is among 620 hospitals being recognized, representing the top 18 percent of Joint Commission accredited hospitals for 2011, the most recent reporting period. Top-performing hospitals met two 95 percent performance thresholds. First, they achieved performance of 95 percent or above on the composite score including all accountability measures for which data are reported to The Joint Commission. Second, recognized hospitals met or exceeded a 95 percent performance target for each and every accountability measure for which they report data.

Allen Hospital will be recognized in the Improving America’s Hospitals annual report published today, on The Joint Commission website and on The Joint Commission’s Quality Check website. For details, visit www.jointcommission.org.

The Joint Commission evaluates and accredits hospital quality and performance across America.
